چکیده
One of the most important challenges in fight against cancer is acquired drug resistance. P-glycoprotein (P-gp), encoded by ABCB1 gene many organs, one factors involved development P-gp mainly efflux toxic substances such as xenobiotics from cell. In addition to these, it also plays a role drugs used treatment cancer, rate success reduces. Phenolic compounds are chemicals that naturally synthesized plants and have biological activities, especially antioxidant anticancer. previous studies, was determined their anticancer phenolics modulate resistance inhibiting expression function P-gp. this review, phenolic play breaking multi-drug activation discussed.

Degradation of P-glycoprotein by pristimerin contributes to overcoming ABCB1-mediated chemotherapeutic drug resistance in vitro
ABCB1 (P-glycoprotein, ABCB1/MDR1) is one of the major members of the ABC transporters linked to MDR in cancer cells. In this study, we observed that pristimerin, a natural triterpenoid, potently decreased P-gp in a dose-dependent manner in both drug-resistant KBv200 and stable transfected HEK293/ABCB1 cell lines. Moreover, pristimerin also inhibited cell proliferation and induced apoptosis in ...
متن کاملAssociation between ABCB1-T1236C Polymorphism and Drug-Resistant Epilepsy in Iranian Female Patients
Background: One third of epileptic patients are resistant to several anti-epileptic drugs (AED). P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is an efflux transporter encoded by ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1) gene that excludes drugs from the cells and plays a significant role in AEDs resistance. Over-expression of P-gp could be a result of polymorphisms in ABCB1 gene. We studied the association of...
متن کاملMembrane transport of camptothecin: facilitation by human P-glycoprotein (ABCB1) and multidrug resistance protein 2 (ABCC2)
BACKGROUND The purpose of the present study was to continue the investigation of the membrane transport mechanisms of 20-(S)-camptothecin (CPT) in order to understand the possible role of membrane transporters on its oral bioavailability and disposition. METHODS The intestinal transport kinetics of CPT were characterized using Caco-2 cells, MDCKII wild-type cells and MDCKII cells transfected ...
متن کاملConcise review: Clinical relevance of drug drug and herb drug interactions mediated by the ABC transporter ABCB1 (MDR1, P-glycoprotein).
The importance of P-glycoprotein (P-gp) in drug-drug interactions is increasingly being identified. P-gp has been reported to affect the pharmacokinetics of numerous structurally and pharmacologically diverse substrate drugs. Furthermore, genetic variability in the multidrug resistance 1 gene influences absorption and tissue distribution of drugs transported. Inhibition or induction of P-gp by ...
متن کاملP-glycoprotein ABCB1: a major player in drug handling by mammals.
Mammalian P-glycoproteins are active drug efflux transporters located in the plasma membrane. In the early nineties, we generated knockouts of the three P-glycoprotein genes of mice, the Mdr1a, Mdr1b, and Mdr2 P-glycoproteins, now known as Abcb1a, Abcb1b, and Abcb4, respectively. In the JCI papers that are the subject of this Hindsight, we showed that loss of Mdr1a (Abcb1a) had a profound effec...
